Please explain the outstanding contributions of the nominee during the month of nomination

At SCAD, the month of November is one of the most hectic times anyone can face on campus. It is the month of finals and preparing for the winter break. I am really fortunate enough to know a fellow staff member, roommate, and friend who handled the closing month with ease and was level-headed through it’s entirety. Maria Zamri goes above and beyond what a normal student is required. She is dedicated in her major, taking three studio classes, and academics are a high priority to her. She is not only a hardworking student, and a dependable RA, but also a student athlete. She is a cheerleader and has training twice a week, and had always from the beginning of the quarter. The month of November kicks off the basketball season with games, frequent meetings, practice, and much more hours of dedication. Not only did she succeed in handling the extra stress that she has, she also took the time to assist me in a program. She and I sponsored a Movie Night, and did this after she was the FIRST one on staff to finish all her programs. It was not necessary at all for her to help me, but she did so willingly and really stepped up when I was overwhelmed with other projects that I had to accomplish. She stayed the entire program, made a large entrance sign, and passed out over 300 flyers. She has shown her outstanding support by attending all the programs she can, and I have personally seen her at all 4 of my events. She is true to her word when she says she will be there, and is always accountable for support. For many of the freshmen residents, this is the first time for them to handle such intense finals and over stressed moments whether it is schoolwork or arranging flights home. Maria was there for her residents, as well as residents on my hall. She listened and helped in any way she could. Whether it was roommate, class, professor, or even personal issues, she made an attempt and spoke with every single of her residents that not only personally asked for her help, but also went around and made sure all her residents were doing well, and checked on them regularly, even the residents who did not make an attempt to see her. Through all of the stress of finals, making flight arrangements, basketball games, office hours, duty phones, un-mandatory programing and attendance, resident issues, staff meetings, hall meetings, checkouts, and paperwork, Maria was the well deserved Resident Assistant of the Week for the first week of November. She went head first into handling the stress and overwhelming amount of work. She is not only a dependable fellow staff member, who finishes paperwork on time, attends programs, and not uncomfortable or unfamiliar in her job, but also a person who brings a wonderful balance to the staff. She was superb in her demeanor and actions. She is not only well deserving as the RA Of the Month, but is also needs to be recognized as a wonderful friend and support. The month of November-the dealing of stress-would not have been as smoothly and easy without her. Please consider her for the Resident Assistant of the Month. Thank you.Word Count: 548
